Swirls Cleaning
Service

-Overview

A brand new cleaning business needed a brand
built to be trusted from first glance.

Swirls Cleaning Service was started from scratch- no logo, no visual idenitiy, no brand presence. The founder came to this project ready to launch a residential and commercial cleaning service, but needed everything that would make a potenial client stop scrolling and say "this is the one".

In a local market saturated with genic business names, stock photos, spray bottle logos, the brief was clear: create  something disinctive, professional, and warm enough that a homeowner or office manager would trust it before ever reading a review.

-The Problem

86 % of people read reviews before hiring. This business had more.

Before a cleaning service earns its first review, the only thing a prospect client has to go on is the brand itself. The logo on a flyer. The look of a business card. The feel of a website. If those things look thrown together, the service gets overlooked- no matter how good it actually is.

The local cleaning market doesn't help. Most competitors use spray bottles clipart, generic sans-serif wordmarks, and and business card templates from the internet. They all look the same. They all say the same thing. For a new business to stand out, the brand had to actively signal: this is different, this is professional, this is worth trusting

Every design decision was a trust decision.

The insight

The research was clear: hiring a cleaning service is an emotional decision before it's a practical one. People want to feel relief, calm, and pride — not just a spotless floor. That insight became the foundation of the entire brand. Every color, every font choice, every logo element had to make the prospective client feel calm, confident, and cared for before they ever picked up the phone.

People don't buy a clean home. They buy the feeling of having one.
The Approach
A logo with layers of meaning. Not a template.

Instead of reaching for stock cleaning icons, the brand was built around imagery that speaks to both the scope of the service (residential houses and commercial buildings) and the quality of the results (the sparkle stars, the SC monogram). The result is a logo system that works across business cards, vehicle decals, uniforms, and social media — and that looks nothing like any competitor in the market.

Design Decisions

Six choices. Six reasons.
Nothing arbitrary.

In brand strategy, every visual decision should have a rationale. Here's the thinking behind the six most important choices made for Swirls Cleaning Service.

01

Buildings in the logo mark

A house and commercial high-rise communicate at a glance that this isn't just a domestic cleaner — it handles both residential and commercial spaces. The client knows the scope before reading a word.

02

Sparkle stars throughout

Stars and sparkles are the universal shorthand for "clean." They appear across all three logo variations, creating a through-line that reinforces the core brand promise every time the mark is seen.

03

The SC monogram

A standalone monogram gives the brand flexibility. The SC mark works as a profile icon, a watermark, or embroidered onto uniforms — all places where the full logo wouldn't fit but the brand still needs to show up.

04

Sky blue — not teal, not navy

Navy reads too corporate. Teal reads too trendy. Sky blue sits in the middle: professional, clean, and approachable. It immediately signals "trustworthy" without feeling cold or clinical — exactly right for a service you invite into your home.

05

Warm brown as the secondary

Brown grounds the palette. It adds warmth that blue alone can't provide, and it signals reliability — the kind of brand that shows up on time, does the job properly, and leaves things better than it found them.

06

The italic serif gives the brand personality and warmth without sacrificing legibility. It reads as approachable and personal — like the name of someone you'd trust in your home — while still looking polished enough for a professional service.

Every color was chosen on purpose.

The palette communicates trust, warmth, and professionalism — three things a new cleaning business needs to earn before a single client calls.
